Our flock of Shetland sheep provide us with a yearly shearing of lovely raw fleece which we turn into roving, batting, and yarn. Shetland wool are 100% organic Shetland wool (raised without pesticides or other chemical treatments) raised here on the farm. Shetland wool is famously soft yet durable. They hail from the Shetland Islands just north of the coast of Scotland. Shetland fleeces come in many varied natural colors ranging from pure white to shades of gray, (light grays, blue-grays, steel gray), shades of brown (fawns, golden browns, reddish browns, grayish browns, dark browns) and black. Shetland wool is great for spinning, felting or any other type of wool products.

Description: Yarn is 100% organic Shetland wool (raised without pesticides or other chemical treatments) raised here on the farm from our flock of sheep. Shetland wool is famously soft yet durable. It would make for beautiful mittens, a sweater, or a winter hat. Raised and processed in Michigan and 100% made in the USA from our farm to the mill. Comes in a gorgeous warm brown cocoa color.

Washed and fluffy. Undyed. Two-ply bulky yarn. WPI is 7. Sold in 4 ounce increments. The skeins are actually around 2 oz. each because they are so bulky! Four ounces is more than enough to make a children's winter hat. Kits are now available through a new listing.
